The Alzheimer’s Association
The Alzheimer’s Association is considered the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center
The goals of the NADRC include making program information and resources available to individuals and organizations outside the Alzheimer’s grantee community. The expertise of the Resource Center team include, dementia-capable systems, supportive services for people with dementia and caregivers, evidence-based caregiver interventions, behavioral interventions for people with dementia, data collection and reporting, and program evaluation. The Resource Center also provides other types of technical assistance such as, educational webinars related to dementia where grantees and/or their community partners meet in topic specific groups to learn more about the issue, develop useful related resources, and engage in peer support and collaboration.
DailyCaring
One of our favorite websites to seek out information on all things “old” is Daily Caring. DailyCaring is for the 43.5 million adult family caregivers who care for someone 50+ years of age. They also help the 14.9 million people who care for someone who has Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Daily Caring is for family caregivers who use the Internet to find solutions for day-to-day challenges, help with important care decisions, and want advice on how to plan for the future.
Alzheimer’s Foundation of America
Founded in 2002 by a dementia caregiver, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) mission is to provide optimal care and services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses and to their families and caregivers. AFA was created to be a resource for families in their time of need. AFA operates a National Toll-Free Helpline (866-232-8484) available 7 days a week, staffed entirely by licensed social workers, which provides support and assistance to callers, as well as connect them with resources in their area, no matter where in the United States they live.Â

This site was designed to provide patients with dementia, their caregivers and family members with helpful resources and information. It contains general information related to symptoms, diagnosis, causes, prevention, treatments, coping and memory loss. It also contains links to many other resources which may be of interest in your thirst for more knowledge.
